In Mrs. Rodriguez's class, students worked together to determine if the sentences showed collaboration or respect. They did this by reading fables and determining their main themes. They then discussed whether collaboration or respect was more important to the fable's point.

This new monthly award was created as an incentive to encourage strong attendance, and our 6th graders set the bar high by leading the way with the best attendance in our school.

Learning never stops - not for our students, and not for our teachers either! On September 15, Mrs. Gajewski, Ms. Van Sickle, and Mrs. Saylor attended professional training at the West Shore ESD to grow their skills alongside educators in our region and to bring new ideas beneficial for student learning. The annual Traverse Williams Academic Awards began in 1989 in honor of Mr. Traverse Williams, a greatly respected educator who served in Walkerville Public Schools for 26 years.

To be eligible for award consideration, students must carry at least six solid subjects and obtain a 3.25 GPA (B+) or above in every subject for both semesters, 2024-2025 school year.

On May 7, our Academic Awards Banquet was held, with Mr. Conkle serving as the emcee and Mr. Parker Kirwin, the guest speaker.
